The Painter {Acrylic,WaterColors and Oils}
Yorkshire painter Charles Abrahams is one of those rare artistic talents whose skills span a broad spectrum of the arts.
"One of my strongest childhood impressions was seeing a picture of the "Venus of Willdendorf" at about 11 yrs old, and being really impressed I set about making one of his own, having previously dug up a pile of clay from the garden.
This little statuette epitomises my love of the abstraction of form at the heart of representational art and yet I equally love the depiction of the subtleties of the detail.
I like to do both representational
and abstract painting; I am interested in trying to capture the balance between the impressionistic and the realistic. In abstract painting its more about the relationship of form, textural brushwork and colour".
